SÜFFA 2024: Get to work!

Team spirit and skills are required: clear the stage for the 1st SÜFFA Team Cup.

 The 1st SÜFFA Team Cup promises a “heptathlon of the butcher's trade” - with a high fun factor for spectators and participants alike.

Seven disciplines, one winner

The competition will be held twice on the stage for trends and innovations (Oskar Lapp Hall, Hall 6) - on Sunday, September 29, and Monday, September 30 - to great public acclaim. “We see the Team Cup as a fresh addition to the established SÜFFA competitions, which will of course take place as usual this time too,” explains Project Manager Sophie Stähle from Messe Stuttgart. With the new format, the aim is to “focus more on the community concept. First and foremost, the whole thing should be fun. In addition, overcoming the challenge together promotes team building and ideally increases efficiency in the companies.” Last but not least, the Cup's event character creates “a special motivation to visit the trade fair, for example when trainees from your own company take part,” says Stähle.

At the Team Cup premium partner, Stuttgart-based Maschinenfabrik Seydelmann, the focus is primarily on the technical aspects: “Future orientation and innovation are part of our corporate DNA,” says Martin Krippl-Stojic, Head of Marketing, Communications, PR. “It is therefore a matter of course for us to support the promotion of creativity, determination, passion and professional fulfillment. Only well-trained and motivated specialists can drive the trade forward. And only those who have mastered their craft can build on a solid foundation and be successful and innovative.” Other partners of the SÜFFA Team Cup are the companies Amjadi, Bizerba, Dick, Hagesüd, Handtmann and Thekenplan. Attention beyond the trade fair is guaranteed: The spectacle will be covered in words, pictures and sound on social media, in the press and on the SÜFFA website. 

Skill, speed - and a knack for weight

At the SÜFFA Team Cup, teams of two to three people compete in seven individual categories - divided into the “From the sausage kitchen” (morning) and “From the shop” (afternoon) sections - to win on points. Depending on the category, two or all registered teams will compete against each other. The participants will be asked to do a lot: from boning, mincing or chopping on time, to the precise preparation of a given canapé platter, to “blind” guessing of spices and sauces or the production of meat loaf rolls of the same weight within a few minutes. The winning team of the day will receive an exclusive trophy at the end of the event. All participants will receive a medal and a certificate - as everyone knows, taking part is everything. Participation is free of charge.
