Ground-breaking ceremony for new grinding shop at Seydelmann in Aalen
The managing partners of Maschinenfabrik Seydelmann KG, Andreas and Matthias Seydelmann, together with Aalen's Lord Mayor Frederick Brütting and First Mayor Wolfgang Steidle, officially kicked off the construction of a new grinding shop at the Aalen plant with a ground-breaking ceremony. The hall is being planned and built by two local companies: represented at the ground-breaking ceremony by Franz Traub, Managing Partner of Franz Traub GmbH & Co. KG and Thomas Gröber, Managing Partner of Bauwerk 4 GmbH & Co. KG.
The new building will offer over 2,000 square meters of state-of-the-art working conditions. In addition to innovative production technology, modern extraction and dedusting systems with heat recovery will also be used. A large-scale photovoltaic system on the roof will also contribute to a sustainable energy supply. In total, Maschinenfabrik Seydelmann is investing over EUR 5 million in the construction and equipment of the new hall.
Special attention is being paid to the well-being of the employees: the dust extraction system purifies the air far beyond the applicable regulations and spacious social and break rooms on two floors as well as modern sanitary facilities will ensure a pleasant working environment and contemporary quality of stay in future.
"With this building, we are not only investing in our growth, but above all in the people who contribute to the success of our company every day," emphasized Andreas Seydelmann at the ground-breaking ceremony.
The new grinding shop not only represents a significant upgrade of the existing workplaces, but also creates new production options and increases efficiency. The optimized spatial arrangement will considerably shorten the distances between the various work steps. The new building is located directly next to the recently refurbished and expanded welding shop - this means that distances can be shortened, and work processes can be made more efficient. The additional space ensures a high level of vertical integration, enables further growth of the company and creates opportunities to use the latest production technologies. After the move to the new building, the vacant areas will be completely renovated and used to expand upstream production.
The company is particularly proud of the combination of automation and precision craftsmanship. Manual machining, especially of complex geometries, remains an indispensable part of the grinding shop - it makes a decisive contribution to the high quality and hygienic design of Seydelmann machines. At the same time, however, automatic grinding machines and robots will also be used.
The department will be planned for shift operation from the outset to be able to flexibly meet the increasing demand and realize the strong growth of the company.
Following the official part of the ceremony, the company invited the entire workforce and all guests to a shared snack. Fresh meat loaf was served - naturally produced in the company's own Seydelmann customer center.
With the construction of the new grinding shop, Maschinenfabrik Seydelmann is underlining its commitment to the Aalen site and at the same time sending a clear signal for sustainable growth, innovative strength and a modern working culture.
